Chelsea hold talks over Jonathan David deal
Chelsea have been among the big movers in the transfer market so far this summer and they have now held talks with the representatives of Lille striker Jonathan David about a potential deal.
According to the Athletic, David is high among a number of options the Blues are looking at to strengthen their attack.
David has 12 months left on his contract and Lille president Olivier Letang and given him the green light to leave this summer, so the Canada star is set to be available for a reasonable price.
The report says Chelsea are yet to approach Lille but have a good relationship with Letang because their BlueCo consortium owns fellow Ligue 1 team Strasbourg.
David has scored 84 goals in 183 matches since joining Lille four years ago.
