>lategame ice specialists are universally treated like a joke
>Lorelei is unironically the wall of the Elite 4, Bruno, Agatha and Lance are all jokes while if your Thunderbolt user can't oneshot her Dewgong then you are likely not ready to face the Elite 4 yet
Why is this? Most of her team are the le bulky slow ice type too. Why are Avalugg and Cryogonal a joke while Dewgong, Lapras and Cloyster are genuine damage checks?

things change man, psychic type was op in gen 1 too. in this case it's likely improved moveset coverage, and also the addition of a weakness in gen 2.
also those are dual water types that you listed, which negates fire weakness and again restricts your already limited coverage in gen 1. - Anonymous

You make it sound like this was an intentional decision rather than Gamefreak just not knowing how to properly balance their own games.

Reminds of the time my Kommo-o didn't OHKO Olivia's Lycanroc with Sky Uppercut.
Yes the move had 85 BP but EVs, IVs, and Natures do somewhat matter in a playthrough.- Anonymous

They matter but the game is generally easy enough that it doesn't matter, not to mention you can even out with a few extra levels if you feel like one of your party members in underperforming.
When you get a good mon instead you will definitely notice. In latest run of Plat I got a Lopunny with Spe+ nature AND 31 Attack IVs, making it one of the strongest members of my team as it can 2HKO basically everything that isn't Cynthia's Milotic or Garchomp

Elite 4s were typically known for having a signifigant jump for its first member but once you broke through that barrier, the rest wasn't typically that bad. 42-50 team to a 53-56 team is pretty big when you only have Victory Road between

Still crazy to me how breasts like that were allowed in children’s media. Hot damn.

are big titted women banned from going out in public or something? Children are going to see breasts. There's nothing you can do about it

Pokemon anime is scared of showing breasts and cleavage. For instance, Alexa has fat breasts and a low cut top, but she inexplicably has no cleavage line. This is a clear result of the anime's fear of boobage.
They showed Lorelei's side boob here because this particular anime was made by a third party.

Because Water type is so good that it more than makes up for their Ice typing

This.
Her only non-water pokemon (Jynx) is very fragile and die fast.Submission hurts though.
I wouldn't say Ice ever mattered because even back in Gen1, the Blizzard TM is compatible with many water types>Submission hurts though.
It hurts you too.

Because they are bulky and neutral to CHARIZARD and ARCANINE, hit venusaur SEly and resist blastoise leaving players to actually have to use their other underlevelled team members to try to get around them.

Ice was actually good in gen 1. Even in FRLG it’s because her team actually deals with ice’s weakness. Four waters to deal with fire and rock types. Two psychics to deal with fighting types. It’s really just a test for your electric types like you mentioned.

Blizzard being 90% accurate with 120 power and 30% chance to freeze in the original Japanese version definitely helped her.

Ice was good back then because fighting moves were a joke, fire didn't resist it, and steel didn't even exist

Yeah I'm really scared of an 80BP move with 80% accuracy that also hurts the user.- Anonymous

It's Gen1, the fighting types are either using that for STAB+SE damage which always scary or critting with Karate chop.

Machamp also doesn't outspeed relevant ice type targets or survive blizzards with its horrendous special so it's not like Submission is going to hit anyway

In gen 1, Ice was basically the 3rd best type in the game, It had blizzard, one of the strongest moves in the game, The majority of ice types were bulky which is considered a joke today, But back then only fire, rock and fighting were effective against ice, 4 of her pokemon are part water so Fire isn't even good in the matchup, she has 2 psychic types basically stopping fightings from having a quick sweep, And most importantly, In gen 1 specifically none of the ice types were shit, All of them were at least serviceable. The three best types in gen 1 Ice, Psychic and Normal were gutted in gen 2 with the introduction of steel type pokemon.

Dewgong, Lapras and Cloyster are all water-types, which is a very good defensive type. They'd be better without the ice-type since they don't really gain much benefits from it (just STAB on ice attacks) but lose some resistance and gain weaknesses, but especially in gen 1 they're still tanky enough to be useful even with that handicap.
Her team is also generally pretty strong, while Bruno's is a joke (Onix has pathetic stats and the Hitmons are frail. The only sort of good pokemon in his team is Machamp but it doesn't have any good moves). Agatha can troll you with confusion spam but her team is either shitmons or get killing by a single earthquake from any half-decent physical attacker. Both also suffer from being weak to physic-types in a gen where physic is the god-type with no real weaknesses. Half of Lance's team is not even fully evolved and the rest get oneshot by ice beam. Lorelei is the only one whose team has good stats, moveset, and doesn't fold over immediately just because you have a super-effective attack since most of her team is tanky enough to survive a thunderbolt unless you're greatly overleveled.
