Modern wellness has ancient roots. The key principles of wellness can be traced back both to preventive and holistic practices. In the United States and Europe in 19th century, there were a number of medical, intellectual and religious movements that developed alongside conventional medicine.

This means that it goes beyond physical health to include many dimensions that work together.

Wellness is an individual pursuit. We have responsibility for our actions, choices and lifestyles. But it is heavily influenced and influenced by the cultural, physical and social environments we live in.

It is easy to confuse wellness with other terms like happiness, health, and well-being. There are some common characteristics among them. However, wellness is not about a static state (i.e., being happy or in good health) but rather a dynamic state of being.

 Instead, wellness refers to an active process of being aware of one’s surroundings and making decisions that will lead to optimal holistic health and well-being. On the other end, people are proactive about maximizing their vitality and preventing disease. They live a lifestyle that promotes health and prevents disease. In other words, wellness can be proactive, preventive, and driven primarily by self-responsibility. The expansion of this consumer value is what makes wellness a growing industry.
